As part of the evening celebration of National Philanthropy Day a special announcement was given by Andrew Smith, Campaign Chair for the Take it to the Finish…Building a Healthy Community Campaign. This campaign was like the topping of the cake…celebrating a long history of fundraising for the new hospital with a $7.5 million goal.
“The Foundation has experienced giving in so many ways in the last number of years within our community of West Niagara and it’s great to celebrate. We have been committed, steadfast, and unwavering in support for ensuring our community would have a new hospital. This has been demonstrated in so many ways…through standing with one another at the rally to save our hospital, buying a Smile Cookie to give to another, lighting a tree during our Trees of Healthy Wishes Campaign and giving in wide ranging ways.” stated Andrew Smith
The Foundation is thankful for the spirit of generosity in our community; because it’s through many ways of giving that have made it possible so that we can now see a new hospital on the horizon.
The Campaign Team all stood together and announced that as a community we have met the goal of the campaign and together achieved the $50 million local share to build and equip the new WLMH!
